GLSS-Great Lakes Super Sprints

$5K to Win Run for the Rabbit at Limaland; Debut at Shadyhill on Tap for GLSS

Merrill, MI - This weekend is a big one for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP with the richest winner’s share in GLSS history on the line Friday and the opportunity to go in the history books as the first winner at a new track on Saturday. Northwest Ohio’s Limaland Motorsports Park will swing the gates open for the first time this season with the $5,000 to win Run for the Rabbit on Friday night, ahead of the Series’ first-ever trip to Shadyhill Speedway in Northwest Indiana on Saturday night.

Limaland Motorsports Park has long been a staple on 360 Sprint Car schedules, going back to the days of the National Racing Alliance (NRA) Sprint Invaders and now with the GLSS. Likewise, the Run for the Rabbit has been circled on many 360 Sprint Car teams’ schedules for over 25 years. In 2026, Limaland Motorsports Park will honor the life of Travis “Rabbit” Miller for the 27th time, with another driver looking to add their name to the long list of iconic winners in the over quarter-century history of the race.

The late Tim Allison won the first-ever Run for the Rabbit back in 2000 before winning the race again in 2022. “The Hurricane” Randy Hannagan has the most career wins in the event with four, including wins in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2018. More recent event winners include Max Stambaugh, who won the event for the first time in his career last season. Jac Nickles first career GLSS win came during the Run for the Rabbit in 2024. Tylar Rankin, Jared Horstman, and Harli White all won the event in 2023, 2022, and 2021. In fact, Horstman is the most recent repeat winner of the event with his wins in 2019 and 2022; the event is on a small streak of first-time winners.

The Run for the Rabbit has always been known to bring out the best drivers and the best in them as they look for bragging rights and glory in the memorial event, but in 2026, even more is on the line as the race offers up the richest winner’s share in GLSS history, with a $5,000 top prize.

On Saturday, the GLSS make their first ever trip to Shadyhill Speedway in Northwest Indiana. The ¼-mile clay oval will see the fire-breathing Winged Sprint Cars for the first time since a 2018 visit from the now-defunct Sprints on Dirt. In their 10th season as owners, the Alger’s are eager to see what the GLSS bring to the table. Many facility improvements have been made under their guidance, and fans are sure to be offered a treat on Saturday night. Shadyhill joins Circle City Raceway, making their debut on the GLSS schedule in 2026.

A few names with GLSS stand out when the series debuts at a new race track and they’re all former champions of the series. When GLSS makes their debut at a new track, Jared Horstman and Dustin Daggett stand out among the crowd. Each driver has four wins when GLSS is the sanctioning body for the first time at a facility. Horstman has the honors for Tri City Motor Speedway (MI), Limaland Motorsports Park, Attica Raceway Park, and Montpelier Speedway. Meanwhile, Daggett was the first at Mt. Pleasant Speedway, Hartford Speedway, the Manistee County Fairgrounds, and Winston Speedway.

Racing on Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park is set to begin at 7:30 PM with Hot Laps and Qualifying ahead of time. General Admission gates open at 5:00 PM. On Saturday at Shadyhill Speedway, General Admission gates open at 5:00 PM with Qualifying around 6:45 PM for the Great Lakes Super Sprints with racing to follow.
