GLSS-Great Lakes Super Sprints

Consistency is Key in Dunham’s Bid for GLSS Championship in 2025

Merrill, MI - The list of heavy hitters eyeing a Championship with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT and ARP continues to grow. From regional championships with the Michigan CAT and Ohio CAT Divisions to the Tour Championship culminating all the GLSS events throughout the season, many have their mentality set for a championship bid by the end of August. For Leipsic, Ohio native Chase Dunham, his goals are no different in 2025.

“The Entertainer” made a bit of a splash in 2024. While he was held from GLSS victory lane, his No.66 team was in contention for the better part of the season. After an 8th place finish at I-75 Raceway to open the year, his results came in ebbs and flows with a 13th the second night at I-75, missing the show May 18th at Fremont, 18th at Limaland June 7th, 9th at Butler June 15th, and 14th at Crystal June 29th. Then, the team cracked the whip and went on a run to finish out the season that included nine top tens and five top five finishes in the final 14 shows.

“I feel like toward the end of the year, we started getting more consistent,” Dunham said. “Every time we go, we feel decently competitive, so now we’ll just do the whole thing [and get a win].”

Prior to NRA becoming the GLSS South Division at the end of the 2023 season, Dunham had success in that series with 39 starts, 20 top tens, nine top fives, and three feature wins. His most recent wins came in 2022 at Limaland Motorsports Park. As for a Great Lakes Super Sprints sanctioned victory, Dunham is still looking for the mark in that box.

“Close a couple of times last year,” Dunham remarked. “But nothing with GLSS yet. That’s a big goal.”

The family owned team will challenge for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Tour Division Championship this season going head-to-head with series heavyweights like Max Stambaugh, Dustin Daggett, Phil Gressman, Jared Horstman, and many others. Dunham says it’ll all come down to consistency from the start of the show.

“[We] need to be good from the beginning of the night,” Dunham says. “I feel like the car is pretty good, the driver just has to be on his game every night. The guys we race with are too good to be ‘off’; look at Max and Dustin last year, the reason they’re champions is because they’re consistent.”

Dunham’s climb toward the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP Championship begins on Friday and Saturday, April 11th & 12th at Sweetwater, Tennessee’s I-75 Raceway.
